Fr. Nick Marziani, Priest Administrator

Fr. Marziani is a one-time Episcopal priest who currently serves as Pastor for St. James Church. Prior to his service with the church, Fr. Marziani worked as an engineer and systems analyst, and then as an administrator at the George Washington University’s School of Engineering. He earned bachelors and master’s degrees in Electronics Engineering Technology and Marine Studies, respectively, before entering seminary. Subsequently he earned the Master of Theological Studies at the Washington Theological Union, and the Diploma in Anglican Studies as well as the Doctor of Ministry at Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA.

He was ordained deacon, then priest, in 1994 in the Episcopal Diocese of Quincy for service in the Episcopal Diocese of Northwest Texas, where he was Associate Rector at St. Nicholas’ Church in Midland, TX until 1998. He served in the Episcopal Diocese of Ft. Worth at St. Joseph’s Church in Grand Prairie until late 2002, and then relocated to Florida in early 2003 to serve as Interim Rector of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Palatka for two years, then Interim Rector at the Episcopal Church of the Nativity on the west side of Jacksonville.

In 2006 Fr. Nick Marziani left his ministry as a priest of the Episcopal Church and entered the Catholic Church. Subsequently he taught high school physics and physical science and tutored at a local elementary school. He has also taught at Flagler College as a Visiting Instructor in Religion, primarily teaching course sections in World Religions, as well as at St. Leo’s University’s satellite operation in Orange Park teaching introductory courses on the Catholic Church and faith. Soon after his conversion to the Catholic Church, he began hosting prayer services for other Anglicans who were considering becoming Catholic. The small community met in various locations until Fr. Nick was ordained in 2012 when he was appointed as the administrator of St. James Catholic Church.

Fr. Marziani and his wife, Joanne, were married in 1971 and have three adult children and five grandchildren. Joanne is a professional educator and in the 1980s co-founded a day school associated with Beth Messiah Congregation, a Messianic Jewish fellowship in Rockville, MD.
